We envision all city dwellers living within vibrant community forests where tree-lined corridors connect with parks and with extensive and diverse natural areas that they can access within (15-minutes ?) by walking, biking, or public transit.
The critical public health, safety, and justice need for this vision to come true is supported by research, both long-established and rapidly-emerging. Working together, librarians, teachers, and poets of all kinds, specialists in helping people access and translate information into knowledge that is valuable to them, can speed the rate at which scientific findings on the importance and methods of preserving and expanding urban tree canopy informs public priorities, actions, and imagination.
